Sony Ericsson’s latest answer to the battle of smartphones is the Xperia X10 which boasts of having one of the sharpest screen displays, whether you’re viewing small thumbnails or detailed graphics. Those who are fond of browsing the Web, regularly sharing photos and videos or updating their profiles on Facebook and other social networking sites would enjoy its large touch-sensitive 4-inch wide screen display. Utilizing the Android operating system (version 1.60) and using Qualcomm’s 1GHz Snapdragon processor, the Xperia X10, from Sony Ericsson aka SE, is relatively fast and responsive.

According to an Infotech article from the Technology Section of Inquirer.net, the Xperia X10 is Sony Ericsson’s best creation, yet:
Indeed, reaction to finger touches is fast and precise, which is especially felt when using the virtual keyboard in both the horizontal and the vertical position (a full qwerty keyboard appears on the screen in both cases).
Browsing through photos and contacts, Web page scrolling and other actions that include swiping the finger across the screen can be performed quickly and accurately.
Sadly, the X10 has no multi-touch function that would have made this device a lot more fun to use. But don’t blame Sony Ericsson: It seems like Google, for an unknown reason, decided to keep this feature (that allows pinch zooming and other gimmicks possible) off its creation for a while.
But Sony Ericsson brought a few new features into the device like Timescape. Which displays one’s latest e-mails, text messages, and social media alerts in a flowing format that resembles a stacked deck of cards. There’s also the Mediascape that does same for the media files.
Its 8.1 megapixel camera shines when compared to those of other smartphones. The camera features a 16x digital zoom, auto focus function, smile detection, ability to recognize up to five faces in your picture (for proper focusing), image stabilizer and a LED light that must be manually activated to properly frame your subject in less than perfect lighting condition.
In addition to its geo-tagging feature, people in photos can be tagged (similar to Facebook), which can prove to be useful for subsequent sorting in Mediascape.
The X10 comes with 1 GB of internal memory and an 8 GB microSD memory card, which would be enough for storing downloaded applications and media files.
